As a Senior Microsoft Engineer, you’ll be a vital member of our IT team of 18 professionals, dedicated to maintaining a virtual private cloud environment for our top-tier SaaS applications. Our team operates across The Netherlands and India, with your primary base in our Utrecht office, working alongside 17 colleagues specializing in Networking, Virtualization, Backup, Security, Monitoring, and more.
In this important role, you’ll support an IT infrastructure that serves around 35 major clients in the pension and insurance sectors, impacting millions of customers across Western Europe. Our platform services include Dell and Cisco hardware and a fully virtualized server cluster using the complete VMware suite.

Key about your role
Your responsibilities include:
- Lead the automation of daily maintenance tasks, such as server backups, system updates, and network monitoring, to free up time for platform enhancements.
- Oversee the Microsoft Azure segment of our hosting platform, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Manage security and compliance tools to maintain a secure, logged, and monitored environment.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues to streamline work processes and drive continuous improvement.
- Leverage your expertise in Microsoft Azure, PowerShell scripting, and security best practices to contribute to our technical success.

Key about you
- Demonstrated expertise in SCCM, PowerShell, and a deep understanding of Microsoft products.
- Extensive experience with network infrastructure, hardening, audits, and ensuring compliance with security regulations.
- Proficient in Windows Server (2012 and up), Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, SQL, and a huge pre is experience with monitoring tools such as CheckMK, Nagstamon, and Elastic.
- Skilled in utilizing vulnerability scanners like Tenable Security Center to identify and mitigate security risks.
- Fluent in English, with the ability to advocate for your professional opinions and ideas.
- Fluent in Dutch is very much appreciated, but certainly not mandatory
